About

Our family of four has been on a journey to clean living probably since our oldest, who we shall call The Princess, was born in 2009.  Now after having our second daughter, who we shall call Hammie, in 2011 clean eating and living is more important to us than ever.

Thinking back, it probably all started when at 2 months old we learned that The Princess had eczema and no lotion from the store could completely soothe her skin.  It wasn't until Hammie also had eczema that we really started looking at the ingredients in the store bought products, in turn, making us think about every other label out there.

From there we slowly started to clean up the food we were eating.  It seems so convenient to grab boxes from the store for dinner, but what no one realizes is how easy and quick it can be to make things from scratch.  And everything tastes so much better when it's fresh!

Clean living is a PROCESS.  Reading labels can be tiring and eating clean can get expensive.  Because we have had so many friends asking what and how we eat (on a budget) we started this blog to share with all of you our journey to clean living.

And because we are sharing our journey we hope that our friends and readers will share with us what works for them as well!

I know the question will come up. . . where did we get the name for our Blog?  Well, a like-minded friend shared with us how hard it is to send a fresh lunch to school with her daughter.  In today's pre-packaged world of Uncrustables and Lunchables, it is actually embarrassing when mom sends you a homemade sandwich!  Can you believe it?  At that moment we said "Uh-Oh.  That is going to be our daughters with the Embarrassing Lunchboxes!"

This blog is our own family's journey to clean living and a way to tell people what has worked or not worked for us.  Any brands we use or like are from our own experiences and opinions.  It is also a way to have other people share with us their own experiences and opinions in hopes to find new information to help our own family.
