I am a big fan of New Year's celebrations. Now that we have kids we celebrate in different ways, but no matter how you celebrate it's a fresh start! January 1st comes and there are endless possibilities for the new year. Whether you are a person that makes resolutions or not, it's a good feeling.
I was on Pinterest trying to come up with fun New Year's activities for the girls and I came across this really fun blog with printable parent & child date cards. Our family is going to be going through some big changes in 2014. Happy changes, but changes that will affect our kids and our time spent with them. The Hubby and I decided that getting some one-on-one time with our girls could be a really great transitional tool for them and us.
This Blog has two years worth of printable "date" cards and even some blank ones for your own ideas. Some of the dates we chose are to go and do something special, other dates will be free and can be done at home. What better gift for the whole year than the gift of your time?!
I made each girl an envelope for every month of the year. At the beginning of each month they will open their envelopes to find out if that month's date is with Mommy or Daddy and what we will be doing.
I am so excited to have scheduled one-on-one time with our girls. Let's face it, sometimes they drown each other out so I can't wait to hear all the things they have to tell me and watch their unique personalities.
Hurry up 2014. . . there is fun to be had!
