Honest. . . Products We Love

I sound like a broken record, but The Honest Company founded by Jessica Alba, actress and author of The Honest Life, and Christopher Gavigan, author of Healthy Child, Healthy World: Creating a Cleaner, Greener, Safer Home,  has to be my most favorite company!   Here is a list of what Honest products are free of directly from the Honest web page:

Our HONESTLY FREE GUARANTEE means you won't find the following list of toxic nasties in our products or packaging:
phthalates, sodium lauryl/laureth sulfates, PVC, parabens, benzene, chlorine, synthetic fragrances, triclosan, formaldehyde-based preserving agents, nanoparticles, TEA, MEA, phosphates, polyethylene glycol (PEG), quaternium 15, DMDM hydantoin, 1-4 dioxane, bisphenol-A (BPA), alkylphenol ethoxylates (APEs)/nonylphenol, BHA, benzalkonium chloride
(We hereby confirm this to the best of our knowledge based on information from our raw material suppliers & manufacturers.)

When The Princess was two months old she was diagnosed with Eczema.  Her skin would break out in red, rashy areas and they were super itchy.  When it got really bad we used Hydrocortizone and it would clear it up.  I felt bad putting Hydrocortizone on her skin all the time, but I also knew she was itchy and miserable.  I tried every natural baby soap and lotion out there.  Ones specifically for Eczema, baby ones, sensitive skin ones, the list goes on.  There were two things that helped, but nothing made it stop!
For the first few years we were getting by with Aveeno Baby soap and lotion and Aquaphor.

When Hammie was born (also with Eczema)  I found The Honest Company.  I was completely hooked after our first cutely decorated box showed up at our doorstep.  Our must-have products are their Healing Balm, Face and Body Lotion, Shampoo/Body Wash (orange-vanilla naturally scented), Body Oil (heavenly!!), Laundry Detergent (though thanks to a good friend I will also be trying my hand at making our Laundry Detergent soon. . . look for that Blog Post later on!), and most currently Honest Sunscreen and Bug spray.

With Aveeno and Aquaphor, the girls skin would still be rashy a big majority of the time.  I would just be slathering all that goop over their scratch marks.  After we started using the Honest Bath products all the time and Healing Balm during a breakout, the breakouts are few and very far between!  I have never seen anything work so quickly and so effectively as the Honest Products.

I love their products so much that I have an Honest diaper and wipes trial on its way now! (Watch for an upcoming Blog post on how they work for us!)  You can try a Diaper Bundle or an Essentials Bundle (house/personal products) too for $5.95 shipping.  This enrolls you in their monthly bundle (which saves you money on their products), but by calling their customer service you can cancel at anytime.  They have seriously, THE BEST customer service that I have ever dealt with.  I actually LIKE calling this company.  They are so friendly, knowledgeable, and just plain want to make you happy!  I have never waited for more than a few minutes before talking to someone on the phone.

They are coming out with new products all the time too.  I just found out they have come out with whole food vitamins including prenatal, infant/toddler powder, and coming soon a children's multi vitamin.  I'm so excited to try their Real-Food Nutrition that they say on their web page is Honestly Free of common allergens like gluten, nuts, soy, GMOs, synthetic additives & fillers, pesticides, heavy metals & other questionable contaminants.

The Honest Company cleared up my girls' skin and made bath time and even housecleaning worry and chemical free.  I will forever be grateful to this company and tell as many people as I can in hopes that one of these products can do the same for them.
My last Honest Order included a free lip balm for Mother's Day!
